Working with Communities to Build Aviation Career Pathways

Airport University provides career exploration, education and career-connected learning for career advancement. Through partnerships with Highline and South Seattle Colleges, we offer free, in-person college classes at SEA Airport. Our classes help SEA Airport employees and community members build skills in computers, customer service, communications and math. Our career exploration and pathways programs are a launch pad to careers in aviation maintenance technology, air cargo/logistics, pilot training and homeland security.

We offer credit-bearing courses onsite at the airport with class topics and times that fit airport worker and employer needs. We don’t just help students launch their career, we give them the tools and support to grow in their careers as well.

Business Computer Applications / MS Excel (BUSN 216)

This is a fast-paced class for students who have experience using Microsoft 365 and want to expand their skills. This class focuses most on Microsoft Excel and is an intermediate level class with homework.
- Earn 5 college credits from Highline College toward an Air Cargo Logistics Certificate

Written & Verbal Communication (BSTEC 101)

Uncover the secrets of clear writing as you practice writing professional emails and business letters. Develop your communication skills to speak effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Earn 2 college credits from Highline College toward an Introducation to Business Technology Certificate

Global Excellence Customer Service (HOST 282)

This interactive class teaches practical skills for providing excellent customer service at SEA Airport. Learn how to listen to customers, solve problems, and handle conflict. You will also complete SEA Airport Five-Star Customer Service Training!
Earn 2 college credits from Highline College toward Hospitality and Tourism Management certificates

Mondays – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
January 26, February 2, 9 and 23, 2026

New Airport U students – may enroll in one course.
Previous Airport U students – may enroll in a maximum of two classes. We reserve the right to reduce the number of courses taken in a quarter based on a student’s past class participation.

Eligibility:

SEA Airport employees (all companies) – priority registration
Taxi/rideshare drivers serving SEA Airport may also apply
Community members looking for jobs at SEA Airport (if space is available)

Airport University Classroom Directions

- Note: Parking will be validated during your job search, hiring event or class. Enter the airport garage through “General Parking” lanes. Bring your parking ticket with you.
Enter the parking garage through “GENERAL PARKING” lanes. Floors 7 and 8 will have the most parking.
Take an elevator to Floor 4 of the parking garage.
Cross Skybridge #4 into the airport.
Go up to TICKETING level. You will be near the Sun Country/Frontier ticket counters.
Go straight back past the ticket counters.
Locate NEIGHBORHOOD CAFE.
Go down the hallway on the left of the CAFE to the elevator.
Take the elevator up to Floor 2 and exit to your right for the Airport University Classroom.
